RMES software was used to perform a RAM analysis, identifying the principal failure modes that are detrimental to asset performance, as well as those that have a greater impact on overall cost. A 23% reduction in failure cost was achieved by eliminating chronic failures and a 1.1-percentage point improvement was made in system availability. These improvements were valued at USD 3.36 million/year.
A RAM simulation was conducted to obtain equipment and system indicators for identifying plant behavior and determining the best options for optimizing project CAPEX and OPEX. Three solutions were found, which compared to the base case deliver values between USD 90 million/year and USD 160 million/year.
The port's performance was improved through implementation of the RMES Suite software, supported by the validation module and registration of automatic data, as well as the software's capacity for system analysis. By identifying the quick wins, a 1.4-percentage point increase in plant availability was achieved, valued at USD 18.8 million/year.
